With Publishing Services supporting and developing many different systems to make your business operations possible, it is important that your employees know how to properly use all the software at their disposal. The learning and development team has the systems knowledge and instructing experience necessary to teach users, step-by-step, how to utilize all of Publishing Services’ systems. Most importantly L&D makes sure the users understand the “why” as it relates to your business.
What Can Learning and Development do for me?
In addition to systems training, we also offer a variety of workshops that focus on different business related skills categories. These workshops are made most valuable by including experts from our company who share information and personal experience from their careers. Some of the specific services we offer are listed below.
Instructor Led Systems Courses – Our standard systems trainings, these courses include presentations and demonstrations, followed by a guided practice session that allows attendees to apply their new skills and solidify their understanding of the subject matter. These courses are also offered as online trainings for affiliates not based in Baltimore.
Workshops – Being more participant-directed than traditional classes, workshops are intended to address focused topics that can benefit from thoughtful discussion. The idea here is for each participant to contribute their insight on a given topic so everyone can benefit from exchanging ideas. Depending on the topic, subject experts (such as one of our product owners) may be present to answer questions and provide in-depth explanations.
Video Guided Workshops (featuring Agora experts) – Video guided workshops address specific topics through focused, individual course videos. After each lesson, attendees will engage in discussion with topic experts in the Agora community to reflect on how the ideas can be used and applied within your business.
One-on-One Coaching – One-on-one coaching typically takes place after an employee has attended an Instructor Led Course. If the employee or their manager feels they need further instruction, or simply wants a trainer to observe their first live setup, one of our team members will reach out to provide personalized, hands-on training.
Lynda.com – Lynda.com is an online library of high-quality instructional videos. These videos provide courses on the latest business, software, technology and creative skills that can help your employees achieve personal and professional goals. The Learning and Development team has discounted membership rates for this service.
